Mahan Planetarium & Learning Dome

The 21st Century Digital Restoration of the Mahan Planetarium and Learning Dome

The Wallingford Education Foundation is currently raising funds to upgrade the planetarium and learning dome at Sheehan High School with a 21st century digital projection system and interactive learning software programs for all ages. Our goal is to have the project complete by the Fall of 2013.

Features of this renovation include:

  • A Spitz Sci-Dome HD© Digital Projection System
  • A surround-sound system with assistive listening component for the hearing impaired
  • Starry Night© K-12 curriculum learning software package
  • Nine prepared digital HD software programs & shows
  • Advanced teaching equipment including a SMART BOARD© System
  • Interactive student response system including wireless controls, microphones and a WebCam.

HELP US REACH FOR THE STARS AND RAISE $300,000

With you support, we can reach our goal of completion for the Fall of 2013. All donations will be used solely for the 21st Century Digital Restoration of the Mahan Planetarium and Learning Dome.
