Wallingford Education Foundation

Supporting Educational Innovation and Excellence

The Wallingford Education Foundation, Inc. (WEF) was formed in November 2003 and is comprised of Wallingford alumni, business leaders, and retired educators focused on raising funds to be used in the public school system. The WEF is led by a board of directors, all of whom are volunteers. The WEF has no paid staff and minimal operating overhead, enabling it to direct the majority of its financial resources to fund programs.

The Wallingford Education Foundation funds educational projects, programs, technologies and initiatives which are not typically within the parameters of the school system’s budget. It also administers philanthropic bequests for grants and scholarships. The WEF is operated and controlled as a non-political entity independent of both the Board of Education and the Wallingford Public Schools. It is not funded by any state or municipal governmental budgets. The Wallingford Education Foundation is recognized as a 501(c)(3) Public Charity and is a certified non-stock corporation in the State of Connecticut, and is a member of the Connecticut Consortium of Education Foundations.

Our Mission

The Wallingford Education Foundation is a non-profit, community-based partnership supporting educational innovation and excellence in our town.

Our Vision

The Wallingford Education Foundation empowers ideas and enhances educational experiences for students, educators and community members. It provides financial support outside the education budget that is aligned with the goals and focus areas of the school district’s strategic plan.
